Boulder County warns of delays tied to 75th Street pedestrian improvement project

Boulder County on Wednesday will begin a pedestrian access improvement project on 75th Street at South Heatherwood Drive, county Transportation Department officials announced Monday.

Motorists can expect weekday daytime delays on 75th Street, Heatherwood Drive and Ashfield Drive through early November during the work that will start at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Delays also might be experienced on South Heatherwood and Ashfield drives. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Offficials said the project will install a new pedestrian crossing on 75th Street north of South Heatherwood Drive that will include a pedestrian refuge island, pedestrian-activated flashing lights and additional signage.

There also will be a new pedestrian crossing on Ashfield Drive at South Heatherwood Drive, as well as sidewalk and corner ramp improvements, enhancements of the culvert on the east side of 75th at South Heatherwood and new roadway striping.
