The Boulder County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot over the weekend as Garett Shulman, 40, of Boulder.
The Boulder County Coroner’s Office identified Shulman in a release sent Wednesday. The coroner’s office will now conduct an investigation to determine the cause and manner of death.
According to Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 8:30 a.m. Saturday to a residence in the 700 block of Cherryvale Road in Boulder for a report of a disturbance that involved a man and woman arguing.
The first deputy to arrive on scene could hear an argument coming from inside the garage area, according to a release. As the deputy attempted contact with the residents, he heard a single gunshot followed by a female screaming. Deputies forced their way into the residence and found Shulman dead inside the garage. The woman was uninjured.
Based on a preliminary investigation and evidence from the scene, foul play is not suspected, and it appears the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
