The Colorado Department of Transportation is planning to do some paving work on Boulder Canyon Drive to reduce the stretch of single-lane traffic due to construction in the canyon.
A release from CDOT said crews will be paving a temporary detour around a portion of the blast zone between the 39 and 40 mile marker of Colo. 119 between Boulder and Nederland.
The paving will begin on Tuesday and go through Friday. CDOT initially said it would start on Wednesday, but moved up the paving in anticipation of snow and rain later in the week.
Paving work will continue from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m each of those days. There will be a pilot car to direct traffic through the area, but drivers should expect significant delays.
The full closures from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday for regular blasting work will still be in effect from Monday through Thursday.
