A man designated by the courts as a “sexually violent predator” has notified Boulder police of an address change.
David Bland, 46, had previously told police he was staying at a storage unit at Guardian Storage, located at 4900 Broadway. But the storage unit told the Camera Bland was not a tenant at the facility and that people were not allowed to live in the storage units.
According to a release, Bland has now told police he will be staying at 555 30th St., Room #108, which is the listed address for Rodeway Inn & Suites at the Boulder Broker.
Police will conduct extra patrol in the area.
Courts can designate sexual offenders as sexually violent predators if there is reason to believe the person presents a high potential to re-offend.
Bland, who first registered with Boulder police in 2017, has a conviction in Colorado for attempted sexual assault on a child and a rape by force or fear conviction in California. He also has convictions for assault and felony menacing.
Because he is designated as a sexually violent predator and does not have a fixed address, Bland is required to check in with police on a monthly basis and police are obligated to release any address changes to the public.
