Registration is open for a free, 10-week class in Boulder for parents concerned about a child’s substance use.

The Community Reinforcement and Family Training, or CRAFT, class covers skills proven to reduce a loved one’s substance use, move them toward treatment and improve the lives of their family members. Skills include understanding a loved one’s triggers to use substances, positive communication strategies and self-care strategies.

Two 10-week sessions are being offered. The first starts at 1 p.m. Jan. 7 and will meet every Tuesday. The second starts at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 8 and will meet every Wednesday.

The classes are funded by a grant from the Colorado Office of Behavioral Health.
