Lafayette officials open online discussion for comprehensive plan feedback after meetings canceled in response coronavirus outbreak

Lafayette officials have opened an online discussion forum for the update to the Lafayette comprehensive plan because of the cancellation of community meetings in response to the new coronavirus outbreak.

The final community meetings for the Lafayette comprehensive plan — named Legacy Lafayette — were planned for earlier this month but were canceled and slated to be rescheduled for a later date.

Through the online discussion, community members can comment on concepts and ideas for various areas in the city.

Lafayette’s current plan was originally developed in 1997 and went through a major review and update in 2003. The city is developing a new plan, Legacy Lafayette, that will guide the city’s evolution for the next 20 years. The plan will cover future land use and potential redevelopment, economic development strategies, housing strategies, sustainability strategies and implementation.
