Louisville officials announced annual fire hydrant testing and flushing will begin on Monday.
The Louisville Public Works Operations Division will test and flush hydrants weekdays through July 3.
The area of work for this year’s testing and flushing includes the western side of Centennial Drive from Dogwood Circle to South Boulder Road. Starting at South Boulder Road from Colo. 42 it will go to Via Appia south to Campus Drive.
Flushing will begin in the north side of the city and move southduring the process, which is expected to take five weeks
Flushing the hydrants will minimize the potential of rust and sediment reaching residents, according to the city.
Residents are encouraged to avoid washing clothes between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on days when crews are in the area.
