Bike to Work Day, which normally would have been held June 24 throughout the Denver metropolitan area, has been postponed until Sept. 22, because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, according to Longmont’s transportation planning staff.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Denver Regional Council of Governments — the organizer of the event in the metro Denver area — has officially postponed Bike to Work Day until Tuesday, Sept. 22nd, which aligns with National Bike to Work Day and Car Free Day, city transportation planner Ben Ortiz said in a memo to City Council.

“If there is adequate recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in Colorado and it is officiallydetermined that it is safe to congregate, the City of Longmont intends on hosting Bike to Work Day breakfast stations in September at the traditional station locations,” Ortiz said.
