Cooler weather prompted Boulder to reopen the creek area near Eben G. Fine Park exactly five months after closing it.

According to city spokesperson Shannon Aulabaugh, there is less concern about large gatherings that exceed what public health orders allow amid the coronavirus pandemic now that the weather is cooling. Current guidelines limit group gatherings to 10 people.

Prior Camera reporting states the lack of social distancing and disregard for public health orders in May caused the closure of all park land and the creek bed north of the Boulder Creek Path from the eastern boundary of the park to the western end of the city. Eben G. Fine Park remained open.
