A woman who was injured while snowshoeing on the CMC Trail was safely carried out by emergency responders Saturday afternoon, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
At 12:38 p.m. Saturday the sheriff’s office was notified about a signal from an emergency personal location device, according to a sheriff’s office news release. The only information given was a location on the CMC Trail, which is in the Brainard Lake Recreation Area near Ward.
Personnel from Indian Peaks Fire and American Medical Response arrived at the trailhead, and a 63-year-old woman from Boulder with a dislocated shoulder was found on the trail, according to the release.
After responders evaluated and treated the injured snowshoer, members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group carried her by litter to the winter parking lot, where she self-transported to seek medical care, the release said.
Agencies assisting with the rescue included the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, American Medical Response, Indian Peaks Fire Protection District and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
