The Boulder Book Store is asking for donations for its effort to give a $100 gift card to every Boulder Valley student who lost a home in the Marshall Fire to buy books.
The cards will include a 33% discount, allowing students to buy $150 worth of books, according to the campaign.
To donate, go to boulderbookstore.net/marshall-fire-donation. The deadline to donate is Monday.
According to the organizers, the store is getting requests for specific books the students lost in the fire, so the typical donation of bulk books to schools wouldn’t help students replace their favorites.
With 780 students who lost their homes, the goal is to raise $78,000. Boulder Book Store is working with Impact on Education to distribute the gift cards on Wednesday.
